The Faculty of Dental Sciences was earlier the M.S. Ramaiah Dental College and Hospital and was established in 1991.
The Faculty offers a 4-year undergraduate programme including one year internship leading to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree and a 3-year postgraduate programme leading to the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degree.

The Undergraduate Programme in Dental Surgery aims to impart a high-level of knowledge and skills in dentistry coupled with general education. The combination of dentistry and general coursework can provide a broad base of knowledge that is essential to be good and efficient dental surgeon. The dental surgeons produced will be able to meet the societal demands in the field of dentistry. Also the graduates will be able to take up entrepreneurial route for their career advancement and moreover, this acts as a first degree to develop further expertise in a chosen domain.
BDS Admission Eligibility:
A candidate seeking admission to the programme should have a pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually, from a recognized Board, with marks as per the examination authorities conducting NEET.

Indian Nationals: Admissions will be done on the basis of the valid rank obtained in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and centralized combined counselling by KEA.
Foreign Nationals /NRI Category: Admissions will be done on the basis of valid score in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) and centralized combined counselling by KEA.

M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS), created by an act in the State of Karnataka, India, came into existence in December 2013. The University is sponsored by Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) trust. The University was created by integrating the “M.S. Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (1999), M.S. Ramaiah College of Hotel Management (1993), M.S. Ramaiah College of Pharmacy (1992), M.S. Ramaiah Dental College (1991) and the M.S. Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre (2012)”
